36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their particular interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet. A yearly open call exploring the creative boundaries of letterforms, where participants are challenged to design a letter or number each day for 36 consecutive days, as a global and simultaneous act showing the outcome of the ability to represent the same symbols from thousands different perspectives.
For this project, I designed every letter to center around a single subject that begins with the said letter. Of course, that meant browsing the dictionary for stuff I'm actually capable of recreating into letterforms. As for the numbers, I just chose random objects that looks like said numbers which happened to be a more difficult task compared to working on the letters. In the end, this project turned out to be more fun and challenging than I expected but it taught me how much character (no pun intended) each letter and number has and the number of possibilities you can play around with them is almost endless.
